Class Title:  Liquid Glass Photos

Duration of class: approximately 1 - 2 hours (One 60-90 minute meet and one 30 minute meet)

Location: A workshop area of my residence

Description:  Starting with a photograph you already have on your phone or computer we will crop and print your photograph and then you’ll mount the photo to painted wood.  You’ll trim the photograph to fit the wooden panel and then using fire and small tools we will guide you through the process of creating a beautiful, finished, ready-to-hang Liquid Glass piece of artwork for your home, your office or as a gift to someone special!  Think wedding photos, family photos, ANY photo!  :)

Special tools (Provided): The creation process requires using fire, paint, resin, a box cutter, spray adhesive and small tools.  For safety reasons, at this time we will work with no more than two students at a time.  We can also accommodate single-person classes if you would prefer.  We will provide rubber gloves and you will need to wear them.  We use Art Resin

Because Liquid Glass takes at least 24 hours to cure, we cannot complete the project in a single day.  The class is broken up into two sections:

  1. The 1st time we meet include painting, printing, mounting, cutting, pouring. The first time we meet will be for about 60-90 minutes.
  2. The 2nd time we meet will focus on cleaning and wiring. The second time we meet will take about 30 minutes.

Disclaimer: Because of this unique creation process, you will almost certainly find tiny bubbles somewhere within the surface of a finished piece or even a slight dimple or other imperfection and this is considered normal and acceptable.  However, you will find the finished product beautiful and it will last your lifetime!  This is why Liquid Glass is so uniquely your piece of artwork.  All sales are final.

Class options: Class time is about the same for each of the below options.  Cost includes 100% of the supplies needed to take home a finished piece.

8x10 Liquid Glass $100

12x16 Liquid Glass $150

About the chemicals used: From the manufacturer: "ArtResin has been evaluated by a certified toxicologist at the American Society for Testing and Materials as being non-toxic when used as directed (conforms to ASTM D4236). It is formulated using the highest quality materials and therefore produces no VOCs or fumes. It is a clean system, meaning there are no solvents or non-reactive diluents—everything in it reacts so nothing is free to become airborne and cause health issues. It is also non-flammable in its liquid form. For all these reasons, it is therefore classified as a non-hazardous material and is shippable by air. Furthermore, many curatives have a powerful odor, however ArtResin has only a low odor and is applicator friendly."
