This photograph of the Bass Harbor Lighthouse in Maine is special to me. Shelly and I were camping at the Bass Harbor campground when we rode our bicycles to the lighthouse. We climbed down the rocks to get a better look at the lighthouse and beautiful rocks that surround it. The waves were crashing dangerously close to our feet, in contrast to the tranquility of the lighthouse itself. During our 4,000 mile trip up the coast, through New England and some midwestern states, Bass Harbor, Maine was one of my favorite locations to visit.
