Built in 1827, Pemaquid lighthouse is unique because of the multi-color, long slivers of rock that surround it all the way down to the coast line. On our 4,000 mile adventure through the New England up to Lubec, Maine in October, 2020, we didn't see anything else like it. The waves on this day were huge and although the area was roped off, we were permitted to scramble the rocks and take a few memories home with us.
