All Work and No Play

The Shining is my favorite movie of all-time.  When I was a child, it was one of the two scariest movies I knew of (the other being Amityville Horror). 40 years after its release, I still consider it one of the most interesting, examination-worthy films, ever.

Shelly and I stayed at the Timberline Lodge in 2021, the inspiration for the Overlook hotel appearance, as seen in the movie.

There are too many great scenes with Jack using the typewriter or being in his work room.  "Wendy, light of my life... I'm not gonna hurt ya...."

"When I'm in here and you hear me typing, or whether you don't hear me typing..."

"How do you like it?"

Each sheet of paper in the stack and in the typewriter is actual text that reads "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy."
